#1) Artificially colored Christmas cookies

If it’s artificially colored, it’s bad for you. And when it comes to holiday cookies, cakes, muffins and other treats, Americans have been brainwashed into thinking that Christmas time somehow means all their foods should be inundated with synthetic RED and GREEN dyes.

How do you make a batch of Christmas cookies? You take a regular batch of cookies and you dump a bunch of green food coloring in it. Then you put red sprinkles on top, feed ’em to the kids and watch them all climb the walls while their parents scramble to find their ADHD medication.

#2) Anything made with vegetable shortening

Aside from the fact that vegetable shortening is loaded with trans fats — recently declared “unsafe for human consumption” by the FDA — it’s also a source of cadmium, a toxic heavy metal with a half life of nearly 30 years in the human body.

Beyond that, nearly all vegetable shortening is made from genetically modified soy, meaning that when you buy foods with vegetable shortening, you are financially rewarding Monsanto.

Virtually all store-bought cookies, pie crusts and other holiday treats are made with vegetable shortening. Check food labels for anything made with “partially-hydrogenated soybean oil” or “vegetable shortening.”

#3) Processed meats made with cancer-causing sodium nitrite

Beware of holiday processed meats — especially the ones that require no refrigeration. Did you ever wonder how they last so long in their plastic packaging without rotting? It’s because they’re blended with sodium nitrite, a cancer-causing chemical that kills bacteria.

Sodium nitrite increases the risk of leukemia, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, brain tumors and more. It’s found in nearly all holiday season processed meats, including “gift” sausages and other packaged meats.

If you are crazy enough to actually eat some of these meats, make sure you take plenty of vitamin C with it, because vitamin C helps block the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines from eating sodium nitrite.

#4) Eggnog drinks made with refined sugars

Watch out for holiday eggnog drinks. They will often combine high-fat dairy liquids with liquid sugars. Some don’t even contain eggs, and others are made with high-fructose corn syrup (read the labels to avoid).

Interestingly, the healthiest part about eggnog is the spices. Nutmeg and cinnamon, two spices commonly used in traditional eggnog recipes, are both used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and they both have genuine nutritional value. Unfortunately, most commercial eggnog sold today uses artificial flavors instead of real spices.

If you want to drink eggnog this holiday season, make it yourself! (And don’t forget the rum…!)

#5) Stuffing

Check out the ingredients on many commercially-available stuffing products, and you’ll find monosodium glutamate.

Yep, many stuffing products are stuffed with MSG, a neurological poison that causes neural cell death. If you stuff your face with stuffing, you’re also stuffing your head with an excitotoxin, and that’s not good at all, especially considering all the other brain-killing substances people tend to abuse from now through New Year’s Eve.

Read labels to make sure you don’t buy or consume stuffing made with MSG. Keep your brain cells alive while you got ’em!

8-year-old becomes China’s youngest lung cancer patient, doctors blame pollution

Chinese doctors blame high levels of air pollution, the toxic byproduct of the country’s supercharged economy, for a young girl contracting a deadly disease usually confined to the elderly.

China’s rapid transformation seemingly overnight from a reclusive Maoist outpost to a modern economic powerhouse has not come without a high social price, as urban dwellers struggle to cope with choking smog and deteriorating health conditions.

The depth of the problem hit home on Monday when it was reported that an eight-year-old Chinese girl, from the eastern province of Jiangsu, became the country’s youngest person to contract lung cancer.

The girl, whose name has been withheld by the authorities, lives near a busy road in the eastern province of Jiangsu, said Xinhuanet, the website of China’s official news agency, AFP reported.

The Chinese report quoted Jie Fengdong, a doctor at Jiangsu Cancer Hospital in Nanjing, as saying the young girl had been exposed to harmful particles and dust over an extended period of time.

Lung cancer cases among children are rare, with the average age for people acquiring the disease at about 70 years old, according to the American Cancer Society. However, as this latest case appears to show, the demographics of the disease may be changing with an increased number of younger people becoming infected.

Lung cancer deaths in China, where a shortage of natural gas supplies keeps it dependent on coal burning, have soared more than four times over the past three decades, according to Beijing’s Health Ministry. Meanwhile, cancer is now the leading cause of death in the Chinese capital.

Last month, the northern city of Harbin – a city of some 11 million people with a heavy reliance on coal as a means for heating – suffered severe smog with air pollutants 50 times the level recommended by the World Health Organization. Beijing in January recorded air pollution levels 45 times the WHO level.

(NaturalNews) The guy is Vernon Johnston, and his story was first reported as a Natural News citizen journalism article in 2009.

That was around one year after being informed he was cancer-free from stage IV prostate cancer that had metastasized into the bone matter of his pelvic area in June of 2008.

Now here it is, over five years later, and apparently Vernon’s still going strong, according to his website reports, videos and announcements. The last known blog posting from Vernon was in August of 2013.

That’s five years and two months after being pronounced cancer-free at a Veterans Administration hospital.

The mainstream medical standard for considering cancer cured is five years in remission or cancer-free. That self-imposed standard is rarely met with surgeries, radiation treatments and chemotherapy sessions. Many die from those treatments within five years!

But after less than two weeks of intense bicarbonate of soda or baking soda (not baking powder) and blackstrap molasses consumption, he escaped not only cancer but toxic orthodox treatments.

Chemotherapy’s dismal record

An interesting study based out of the Australian Oncology Radiology Department, Northern Sydney Cancer Centre, conducted a very thorough epidemiological meta-analysis, completed in 2003 and published in 2004.

It was an effort to determine if the contribution of chemotherapy, both as curative and adjunctive cancer therapies, with its high expense warranted the Australian medical system’s financial support.

Their abstract reported: “The overall contribution of curative and adjuvant cytotoxic chemotherapy to 5-year survival in adults was estimated to be 2.3% in Australia and 2.1% in the USA.”

From their conclusion: “To justify the continued funding and availability of drugs used in cytotoxic chemotherapy, a rigorous evaluation of the cost-effectiveness and impact on quality of life is urgently required.”

Granted, this activity was the radiation boys attacking the chemo camp to discourage Australia’s socialized medical system’s funding of chemotherapy drug availability. So what. They got the numbers right, and the study was peer reviewed and published.

Thanks to cancertutor.com, that Australian abstract with full study details is available here (http://www.burtongoldberg.com).

According to the vast database cancer cure guide Cancer Tutor, 90% of cancer patients who don’t undergo conventional therapies survive beyond the five year mark, while 50% who have undergone extensive conventional treatments and are sometimes left to die survive. Still much better results than chemo!

Back to Vernon and his baking soda

Vernon also incorporated a good basic diet, lots of sunshine exposure and breathing exercises along with strong emotional support by family members for him and his attempt at curing his cancer alone with an unusual approach that was available to him.

The baking soda/molasses combination caused a drastic pH alkaline spike that oxygenated his cancer cells to their demise. Since cancer cells thrive by fermenting sugar, the molasses was the bait that allowed baking soda’s alkaline influence to enter and oxygenate them (http://drsircus.com).

He continued maintenance sessions every few months with two weeks of alkaline boosting using the same protocol of baking soda and molasses that he used to cure himself a few years ago, as explained here (http://www.phkillscancer.com).

Although this author and most others wouldn’t go it alone with only the baking soda-molasses protocol, it worked for him. Just like super-intense carrot juicing worked for Ralph Cole and Ann Cameron, as reported here (http://www.naturalnews.com).

(NaturalNews) Vitamin D deficiency is a major cause of breast cancer among women, according to a recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The study, authored by a team of scientists from various organizations, reports that women in Saudi Arabia who have low vitamin D levels have six times the risk of having breast cancer than women with higher levels. Researchers urge others to increase vitamin D intake for a myriad of life-saving health benefits.

The case-control study analyzed data from 120 breast cancer cases and an equal amount of controls. The study found that Saudi Arabian women in the lowest vitamin D category, less than 25 nmol/L (10 ng/ml), had six times the risk for evasive breast cancer as people in the highest category of vitamin D status, greater than 50 nmol/L (20 ng/ml). Women in Saudi Arabia, even though they reside in a high UV sunlight exposure area, have very low levels of vitamin D. This is due to a modern indoor lifestyle, darker skin types, cultural practices of dress and the fact that the food supply is not fortified with vitamin D like it is in Canada and the USA.

The data collected for the study indicated that breast cancer cases had significantly lower serum concentrations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D], at an average of 9.4 ng/mL, than did controls, which averaged at 15.4 ng/mL.

“These results are not surprising” says Dr. Cedric Garland, a Professor from the UCSD Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. “There are numerous studies supporting that women need vitamin D levels exceeding the Institute of Medicine (IOM) guideline of 50 nmol/L (20 ng/ml) to help prevent breast cancer.” (http://www.prweb.com)

“Our study, published in the Annals of Epidemiology in July 2009, reported that raising women’s 25(OH)D blood serum level to 100-150 nmol/L (40-60 ng/ml) would prevent 58,000 new cases of breast cancer and three quarters of deaths from these diseases in the US and Canada.” added Dr. Garland. “We need help and support from the medical community especially family doctors to communicate this to their patients and put the vitamin D breast cancer prevention opportunity into daily practice to save lives.” (http://www.prweb.com)

“Optimal levels of vitamin D have the potential to drastically reduce breast cancer cases in Canada and the USA” said Perry Holman, Executive Director for the Vitamin D Society. “The Vitamin D Society recommend that people have their 25(OH)D level tested either through their family doctor or by purchasing a home test kit through health suppliers such as GrassrootsHealth. If your vitamin D test score is low, below 100 nmol/L Canada or 40 ng/ml USA, take immediate action to increase your vitamin D intake.” (http://www.prweb.com)

Arash Hossein-nezhad, MD, PhD, Michael F. Holick, PhD, MD of the Boston University Medical Center published an article, “Vitamin D for Health: A Global Perspective,” detailing the health benefits associated with vitamin D. Their article outlines how vitamin D deficiency continues to be a problem in today’s society and the risks associated with it. “Because body fat can sequester vitamin D, it is now recognized that children and adults who are obese require 2 to 5 times more vitamin D to treat and prevent vitamin D deficiency,” writes Hossein-nezhad and Holick, suggesting that America’s disturbing obesity rate may mean that a growing number of citizens are suffering from vitamin D deficiency, whether they realize it or not. (http://www.mayoclinicproceedings.org)

Vitamin D can be found naturally in very few foods. Wild salmon and mushrooms exposed to UV rays are two of the scarce natural food items containing vitamin D. Despite this, Hossein-nzhad and Holick’s article goes on to list other available sources of vitamin D and how to increase one’s uptake of the important nutrient:

“Vitamin D intake can be increased by eating foods fortified with vitamin D. A recent systematic review found that food fortification with vitamin D (especially in milk) is effective in significantly increasing 25(OH)D levels in the population.7, 252 Other foods include some cereals, juices, other dairy products, and some margarines. A mean individual intake of approximately 11 µg/d (440 IU/d) from fortified foods (range, 120-1000 IU/d) increased 25(OH)D concentrations by 7.7 ng/mL, corresponding to a 0.48-ng/mL increase in 25(OH)D for each 40 IU (1 µg) ingested.” (http://www.mayoclinicproceedings.org)

Hossein-nzhad and Holick’s paper finishes with words of advice, urging readers to increase the amount of vitamin D they intake: “There is potentially a great upside (in terms of improving overall health and well-being) to increasing serum 25(OH)D levels above 30 ng/mL. An effective strategy to prevent vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency is to obtain some sensible sun exposure, ingest foods that contain vitamin D, and take a vitamin D supplement.” (http://www.mayoclinicproceedings.org)

(NaturalNews) If you haven’t yet realized the truth about how vaccines contain hidden cancer viruses, prepare yourself to be shocked by the admission you’re about to hear. Decades ago, one of the most prominent vaccine scientists in the history of the vaccine industry — a Merck scientist — made a recording where he openly admitted that vaccines given to Americans were contaminated with leukemia and cancer viruses.

In hearing this admission, his colleagues (who are also recorded here) break into laughter and seem to think it’s hilarious. They then suggest that because these vaccines are first tested in Russia, their side effects will help the U.S. win the Olympics because the Russian athletes will all be “loaded down with tumors.”

For the record, this is the same vaccine that was given to tens of millions of Americans and promoted by the government. To this day, people still carry these hidden cancer viruses which have proven to be a boon to the cancer industry.

(NaturalNews) If you haven’t already sprayed this year’s crop of dandelions with Roundup or other herbicide – and you’d like to rid your lawn from unwanted vegetation – why not dig up your dandelions and make tea or eat them in salads, stews or a green smoothie?

The common dandelion proliferating summer lawns is often considered a weed. It was brought to the United States from Europe and Asia and introduced for its myriad health benefits, which have been utilized by Eastern cultures for centuries. Dandelion is a bitter herb and all parts of the plant are used medicinally in herbal preparations, teas and as foods.

Preparing dandelions for consumption

Make dandelion tea by brewing 1 ounce of dandelion root or leaves in 1 pint of water for 15 minutes. Roast dandelion root like you would carrots or potatoes. Dandelion greens and flowers are delicious raw in salads or cooked like you would spinach.

Stimulates digestion

The bitter properties in dandelion aid digestion, stimulating the production of digestive juices, which begin in the mouth with saliva. The stomach responds to stimulus from bitter foods by increasing the production of all natural digestive juices including acids and bicarbonate.

>h1>Tonifies the liver
Dandelion tea supports the liver in its production of bile, reducing inflammation, jaundice, hepatitis and gall bladder disease, according to Columbia University.

Effects on blood sugar and diabetes

Dandelion affects blood sugar levels, acting as a stabilizing agent and buffering against extreme highs and lows. Drinking dandelion tea three times a day provides support for diabetics.

Prevention of kidney stones

The University of Maryland Medical Center notes the combination of foods high in oxalates and calcium may lower the incidence of kidney stones. Dandelion is high in oxalates and when consumed at the same time as high-calcium foods, they bind in the intestine creating protection for the kidneys.

Weight loss and swelling

Dandelion leaves act as a diuretic and can be made into tea, which reduces swelling and fluid retention as well as promoting weight loss, according to Columbia University. It’s believed that dandelion tea may have other properties that aid with weight loss in addition to its diuretic affect.

Cancer fighting properties

According to Columbia University, antibodies to various types of cancers have been detected in individuals after consuming dandelion, including the leaves, flowers and roots.
